Where Have Me and Teddy Been?
What all started with a trip to Crete via Prague in 2018 has turned into quite an adventure.
Since then, me and Teddy have travelled across Europe, explored North Africa, ventured into the Caucasus and Middle East, and made it as far as Ethiopia — often taking some rather interesting routes to get there!
Sometimes we’ve travelled somewhere new. Other times we’ve found ourselves returning to old favourites such as Prague, Malta, Morocco, Istanbul and the Canary Islands.
And that’s really what Teddy Bears Travels is all about.
We’re not trying to tick countries off a list. We travel to experience new places, revisit the ones we love and hopefully pick up a few stories along the way.
So, where have we been?

Below you’ll find the destinations we’ve explored so far.
Some already have plenty of Teddy Bears Travels guides and stories to discover, while others are adventures that I’ll be writing about in the future.
🇨🇿 Czech Republic
Prague has become one of our most visited cities — and somewhere we seem to keep finding excuses to return to.
From Prague Zoo and the city’s famous attractions to public transport, visitor passes and simply wandering around one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals, there’s plenty to discover.

🇵🇱 Poland
Our Polish adventures have taken us to both Warsaw and Wroclaw.
Wroclaw in particular became part of one of our more ambitious multi-city trips, eventually taking us onwards to Prague.

🇬🇷 Greece
Greece has given us several very different adventures.
We’ve visited Crete, explored Skiathos and the Sporades, and more recently travelled to Corfu after crossing over from Albania.

🇪🇸 Spain & the Canary Islands
From the streets of Barcelona and beaches of Mallorca to Malaga, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, Spain has become another destination we’ve returned to many times.
The Canary Islands in particular have become something of a Teddy Bears Travels favourite.

🇬🇮 Gibraltar
Small enough to explore without travelling huge distances but unlike anywhere else we’ve visited, Gibraltar has featured in several of our trips.
We’ve also used it as a gateway between southern Europe and Morocco.

🇲🇦 Morocco
Morocco is one country we definitely haven’t visited just once.
Our travels have taken us through Agadir, Marrakech, Tangier, Fez and Casablanca, including journeys connecting Morocco with Gibraltar and southern Spain.
It’s colourful, chaotic, fascinating and somewhere we continue to return to.

🇮🇹 Italy
We’ve experienced Italy in several very different ways — sometimes as the main destination and sometimes as part of a much bigger journey.
Our Italian adventures have included Venice, Milan, Rome and Sicily.

🇲🇹 Malta
Another recurring favourite.
We’ve stayed in St. Julian’s Bay, returned to Malta several times and even used one visit as an opportunity to make a day trip across to Sicily.

🇭🇺 Hungary
Most of our Hungarian adventures have centred around Budapest, a city we’ve returned to while travelling across Central Europe.

🇸🇰 Slovakia
Our visit to Slovakia took us to Bratislava, conveniently positioned between several of the Central European cities we’ve explored.

🇭🇷 Croatia
We’ve travelled through Croatia on several adventures, including visits to Zagreb and later journeys through the Balkans.

🇧🇦 Bosnia & Herzegovina
One of our more unusual adventures took us to Visoko, travelling there via Zagreb and continuing our journey through Europe afterwards.
We’ve since returned to Bosnia as part of another Balkan adventure.

🇷🇸 Serbia
Our Serbian travels took us to Belgrade as part of a much bigger European journey through Croatia, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and France.

🇧🇬 Bulgaria
Our 2026 travels brought us to Bulgaria, including Burgas and Plovdiv, before continuing onwards through Poland and the Czech Republic.

🇦🇱 Albania
Our Albanian adventure took us to Tirana before crossing over to the Greek island of Corfu.

🇲🇪 Montenegro
Another addition to our Balkan travels, with Podgorica becoming our introduction to Montenegro.

🇹🇷 Turkey
Turkey is another country we’ve returned to.
We’ve explored Antalya and made multiple visits to Istanbul — a city sitting quite literally between Europe and Asia.

🇬🇪 Georgia
Georgia introduced us to Tbilisi, and we liked the region enough to return as part of another journey through the Caucasus.

🇦🇲 Armenia
We’ve also visited Yerevan more than once, including trips combining Armenia with neighbouring Georgia.

🇯🇴 Jordan
One of our big 2026 adventures took us to Jordan.
After experiencing Amman, we travelled to somewhere that had been very high on the travel list — the ancient city of Petra.

Our Tunisian adventure took us to Tunis, combined with a trip to Rome on the other side of the Mediterranean.

🇪🇹 Ethiopia
One of our most adventurous journeys yet took us to Addis Ababa, travelling via Algeria and Chad.
Ethiopia is somewhere we’re particularly interested in exploring much more of in the future.

As Teddy Bears Travels grows, many of these will get their own destination guides too.
Our Travels Through the Years
The destinations tell only half the story.
Some of our favourite adventures have involved travelling through several countries on the same trip — sometimes deliberately and sometimes because finding the cheapest or most interesting route seemed like a good idea at the time!
Our travels began with Crete via Prague in 2018, followed by Morocco in 2019.
By 2022 and 2023, we were travelling through multiple European countries on the same journey, and by 2025 and 2026 our adventures had expanded into North Africa, the Caucasus, the Middle East and East Africa.
There have been missed connections, ridiculously early flights, long bus journeys, unexpected stopovers and quite a few occasions where Teddy probably wondered what on earth I was doing.
But that’s all part of the adventure.
Where Will We Go Next?
That’s a very good question.
There are still a lot of grey countries on that map.
Teddy Bears Travels will continue exploring new destinations while also returning to some of the places we’ve grown particularly fond of.
Every new trip means more first-hand destination guides, travel tips, photographs, itineraries and probably a few things going wrong that we can tell you about afterwards.
So this map is definitely not finished yet.
